design by Jan Van Lierde

As Bergamo and Brescia celebrate the Italian Capital of Culture 2023 Platek invites you to discover a light installation designed by the internationally renowned architect and lighting designer Jan Van Lierde. Allegro ma non troppo, is a matching installation that will be present in both cities. Each installation is made up of 27 luminous hexagons, individually motorized and covered with a special dichroic film. The rotation of each individual body, struck by the natural light and by the three spotlights that illuminate it from a distance, creates a multitude of color refractions all around the artwork. Positioned in key areas of each of the two cities, the two installations, titled “Allegro but not too much” become a luminous common thread that, symbolically and otherwise, connects the two neighboring cities.
